Recognition happens at different scales
Some reward moments are individual: a thank-you after difficult work, a birthday or a new starter. Others belong to a team: a project launch or sales target. Christmas can involve the whole company.
HR should not need a different reward product for each scale. The core action is the same: choose recipients, set value, add context and send.
The number of recipients should be a parameter, not a new operating model.
One person
An individual reward needs speed. If someone has done excellent work, the recognition loses energy when HR needs days to source and approve a physical item.
A reusable credit workflow allows the company to act while the moment is still fresh.
The employee then chooses inside the same store they use for other rewards.
A team
Team rewards introduce fairness and administration questions. Who is included? Is the value equal? Does the programme have a specific reason or expiry?
Those are useful programme decisions. Product preference is not. The team can receive consistent value without everyone choosing the same item.
That gives managers a scalable way to recognise collective outcomes.
The whole company
Company-wide rewards stress-test the workflow. Recipient counts rise, multiple markets may be involved and small manual tasks multiply quickly.
The correct response is not a separate bulk-gifting system. The same send action should accept a larger audience while the catalogue and fulfilment layer absorb individual choice.
Our ten-minute Christmas workflow describes the design target.
Five minutes should be the recurring ambition
The exact time required depends on employee data, funding and company controls, so the useful promise is not a stopwatch guarantee.
The product principle is that a configured employer should be able to repeat the action quickly. Rewarding more people should not create proportionally more HR work.
That is what software is supposed to remove.
